I know it's been a LONG while since I've written on this blog. My Aunt Rae has done everything but threaten violence on me for not writing. haha!
The kids are doing great. Shannon is getting ready to graduate grade school. Grandpa Rick is not doing well with that, it may be interesting to watch him at Graduation. Both kids are getting ready for summer ball. Brennan doing baseball and Shannon doing travel softball. So our summer is going to be busy.
Sean had an awesome first year as head coach for the wrestling team. They had the 2nd best season in Mt. Vernon high school history. They also broke the school record for the most regional champs in one season. He had 3 make it to state this year, which tied the school record. So, yeah, I'm pretty proud of him. He is getting ready to run his first 1/2 marathon in St. Louis. I will NOT be running with him, but maybe one day I can join him in a 5K or something. For now, I'll be his biggest cheering section!
I am once again looking for a new teaching job. Illinois is not exactly the place to be a teacher right now. All in all, Illinois will be laying off approximately 20,000 teachers this school year. I was one of 9 given my pink slip for the year. Maybe there will be a miracle and the state will pony up the money it owes the schools. Yeah, right! (The sad thing is that I'm one of thousands of teachers who does not have a job next year and our ex-gov Blago is on Celebrity Apprentice! Fair...I think not!!) Until then, I will be looking for a new job and hoping that we will be brought back for the next school year. Worst case scenario, I go back to school and do something else. Sadly, teaching is the only thing I've ever wanted to do. But sometimes, it's not about what we want, it's about the important things like family and home. Those are the things that keep me going. That, and my wine and cheetos nights with Olivia!
Thats all for now. I also added a couple of pics of the kids.

Kari- you made me laugh- and cry! I know you will find a job soon-just remember that everything happens for a reason. Congrats to Sean! Way to go! And the kids are growing up way too fast!
Kari,Thanks for a new post...the Griswald Christmas is just a little outdated!
Sorry to hear about your job.I hope that you can find something before the new year begins! I hear about all the teacher budget cuttings in Illinois on the St.Louis News.
Sounds like you are in for a busy summer...I remember those good ol'days when the girls were younger....enjoy them cause you will be lost one of these days without those busy days and evenings. It will be kinda sad.
Take care and see you in June!
